Kenji Fukushima was born in Shiga Prefecture in 1982. Following his graduation from the Department of Design at Osaka University of Arts, he furthered his studies in design at HDK University in Sweden. Upon returning to Japan, he joined IDK Design Institute Co., Ltd., where he had the opportunity to study under the mentorship of Toshiyuki Kita, a renowned designer known for his work on Sharp’s LCD TV “Aquos” and various other products.
In 2018, Kenji founded the creative studio “Saltco Co., Ltd.” The same year, Saltco Co., Ltd. was recognized as one of the top five creative companies in Hyogo Prefecture. Kenji has been deeply involved in branding and design projects for over 80 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.
Kenji oversees the creative management of the joint exhibition “Tete Tete Business Meeting/Tete Te Shopping District” which showcases the craftsmanship of artisans and workshops from across Japan. He boasts extensive experience exhibiting at international events, including six appearances at the prestigious Salone del Milano furniture trade fair in Italy, as well as Maison et Objet in France.
Through collaborations with local governments, regional support organizations, and other governmental agencies, Kenji actively supports small and medium-sized businesses in addressing various challenges, enhancing their business foundations, and striving for growth.
